Text Box: History

Raedan Institute is a unique charity as its main aim is to serve the community by helping underachieving pupils fulfil their potential. Our Objective is to develop a pioneering Education centre and thereafter establish a fulltime Secondary school.

We have extensively researched all possibilities and avenues on how to achieve success at the highest level. Looking at viability, Educational guidelines, business angels and investors, target populations, models of Other Centres around the country, models of education, Educational grades for Ethnic Minority pupils in East Lancashire below the national average and unemployment statistics highlighted the fact that there is a huge increase of ethnic minority pupils underachieving in Lancashire. Currently we are at the fundraising stage and hope to raise £2.5 million over the next few years. RI has also taken approximately 400 children and adults as part of the school trip over the last 5 years and due to the large influx of people we have deemed it necessary to acquire our own licenses.

RI Education Centre  - RI’s high expectations and standards emphasize our desire to become a centre for Educational Excellence. We have consistently shown having dedicated and professional teachers, excellent teaching methods and correct guidance and help, pupils can achieve outstanding results. Unfortunately our lack of space and limited resources prevents us from helping the growing number of learners on our waiting list.  We believe that there is a real need to educate our children in a fully Religious environment. Therefore, in addition to our Educational Centre we hope to establish a Secondary School in Blackburn in September 2011. The “State of the Art” School will provide quality education whilst maintaining RI’s high standards and expectations.

RI in conjunction with AHF VIP Hajj & Umrah – We also help people by them performing Educational and Spiritual trips from as little as £199*. Since 2004, we have successfully managed to take many pupils and students on school trips abroad. Throughout the year we have 5 main tours. (*Terms & Conditions apply)

Futuristic Vision of AHF

A pioneering idea or concept was initiated on the March 2004. At first 10 pupils of all abilities were selected (KS2, 3 GCSE and A-Levels) from many schools and Colleges around Blackburn. The idea and concept was to provide Secular Education (English, Math's, Science, ICT etc) parallel with Religious Education. At first, many people were very sceptical. However, at the end of the second year, all our students and pupils began to excel in their studies.

Our success has been tremendous, many of our students studying, Law, BTEC National Diploma in Forensics and BTEC National Diploma in Computing etc, attained A (Distinction) to C grades. These same pupils in their GCSE attained C to E grades. This shows the dedication and hardwork of our students. Our KS2 and KS3 pupils also showed a rise of attainment levels far beyond expectations. GCSE pupils all attained A* to C grades giving 100% achievement of all our pupils.

In a short space of two years and 42 pupils later we decided that we are limited to the number of pupils and that an expansion is needed due to the constraints of the current location, so that students in the North West especially in and around Blackburn can utilise this resource. Advice is also given free from professional teachers and academics who are familiar with the education system. A pioneering scheme in Blackburn to educate disable children is also under consideration.

RI in conjunction with RI Educational Establishment is the first establishment of its kind and the simple reason is that the centre provides Secular Education from piloted, researched based concepts. This is in concordance with the National Curriculum. The centre also prides in promoting ethical, cultural and spiritual enhancement, which we hope, will benefit them and the community in general.

Our aim is to be at the forefront of this scheme and to provide Secular Education for the youth; elders and pupils from other Ethnic backgrounds who wish to learn and experience education at the highest level in a safe and comfortable environment.

RI wants to be at the forefront of school based educational trips. At the current moment we already have 3 schools participating in our April and August educational trips to Dubai, Spain and Saudi Arabia as well as stopovers in Istanbul (Turkey), Amman (Jordan) , Abu Dhabi (UAE), India and Malaysia to name a few. All profits gained from our Educational trips would then fund the Education Centre, School and other charitable objectives.

Our expertise is already gaining momentum and we wish to have all the licenses in place as soon as possible. Our aim is to become the best educational trip provider in the UK. The necessity of the licences are apparent, however, in order for us to become a self-sufficient charity we have organised and implemented several projects to raise funds to help underachieving and disadvantaged children. We hope to raise £2.5 million within a few years and are ahead of schedule.
